Emergence of Self

Hre is my white figure drawing of myself. The lighting was kinda bad and I couldn't find a strong light source where the mirror was in my room. So the isn't that much of a difference in value but there was a small difference in value on one side of my face. It doesn't really look like me but I tried anyways.

Random People Drawings

Here are some of my drawings of different people in their environment. The first one I did was in the EUC coffee shop. Or looking in from and outside window. I got a good view I think and the people weren't moving all the time.

The second one was on I did in the Weatherspoon Art Museum while waiting for my Art History Class to start. I did it right when I got there so there weren't that many people. I probably should have waited because soon enough people started to pour into the lobby area.

The last one was a disaster. It was a view from the Moore Humanities and etc. building. Normally there are a lot of people waiting out front but today people were either on the move or when they saw me drawing decided to go stand somewhere else. I got so fustrated I just ended up leaving.

My Beloved Egg Project

I'm completely sick of eggs now! But here are the photos of my egg project. This is about the fourth idea I had and probably the best one. The first three iterations were a bassinet, a frying pan, and a swimming pool, all made of paper mache except for this one.

Contour Drawing of a Bicycle

Here is my contour drawing of a bicycle we had to draw in class Friday. I think it turned out way better than I thought it would and I’m quite proud of it even though one tire seems a little flat.

Outside Contour Drawing (McIver Street) #1

Here is the first contour drawing of two drawings I did on McIver Street. I didn’t really get a chance to finish drawing it because our 30 minutes were up. I think It would have looked nice if I had finished it.

Outside Contour Drawing (McIver Street) #2

This is the second of my McIver drawings and it is the one I finished. I really like it even though I did mess up a couple parts of it dealing with perception. Its still really cool though. I'm also thankful for not having to draw any people. No one really sat down in my field of vision thank goodness.

Egg Project Drawings

These are just drawings of the egg projects we had to do for an excerise in Environmental Design. I think they really turned out good. I hope the people whose project I drew think I did them justice! ;-)

Outside Contour Drawing (Jackson Library)

Here's my drawing of my view of Jackson Library from the lawn in front of the Curry building. I think it could have been better but I still like it a lot.

Three Contour Drawings

I'm not sure if you can see them that well but here are my contour drawings I had done over Labor Day. I really, really like the one with the vase of flowers. I tried to capture the actual shape of the flowers and I must pat myself on the back. It turned out pretty darn good.

Contour Drawing of Office Space

Here is my contour drawing of my office space I had to do. As you can tell its from when we had just started getting into learning about contour drawings. I think I might try and redo this one since I've had more experience in drawing these types of pictures since then.

Blind Contour Drawings

I'm not sure anyone was 100% happy with their blind contour drawings. I think they turned of alright. You can somewhat tell what some of them were and what some weren't

Pablo Picaso Drawing (yes its supposed to be upside down)

I am extremely happy with the way this picture came out. I even shocked myself with how much it actually looked like the picture we were given to replicate. Since I had only gotten the head and shoulders drawn I decided to go back and try and draw the hands. I didn't get the chance to finish the one with the hands but I still really think its good.

Morning Exercise (Shoe Drawing)

This was one of the first drawings I had in my sketchbook. Its the one that got me excited about drawing these IAR classes. I think it was a really good start to the school year. I think drawing a tennis shoe was easier than drawing an actual foot in a flip flop.
